Minister for Climate Change Zartaj Gul while briefing the Senate on government initiatives said that buses would be run by generating energy from cow dung of buffalo colony in Karachi.
Speaking in the Senate session, Zartaj Gul said that the amount of diesel and petrol being imported in our country is Euro Five quality, the amount of sulfur in Euro Five is only 5 percent.
Zartaj Gul said that Punjab has tightened fines to remove vehicle pollution, cracked down on Iranian smuggled oil, and overcome an annual loss of Rs 250 billion. Pumps have been closed after the operation on the Balochistan border and at present 1800 petrol pumps are operating illegally across the country. Zartaj Gul said that iron factories in Islamabad were being monitored for industrial pollution
