Altit Fort is an ancient fort located above the land level of Karimabad village in Hunza,Gilgit Baltistan ,Pakistan.This fort belonged to the rulers of ancient times who were well known by MIR.Later on the rulers moved to the new palace but this Altit fort and Shukari tower are around 1100 years ancient.
The word Altit is a
Tibetan word, the people are Hunza are said to belong to the white Huns, and it
is also said that the local language of the present time was brought by these white
Huns .
This fort was then restored by the Agha khan trust and the government of Norway and now it is a
tourist site since 2007.
